Sustainable development

Our commitment

to durable development

Groupe G7 has always been active in developing policies and solutions for sustainable development.

Thus, the taxi rental subsidiary G7 Taxi Service has been involved in the betterment of the environment with their adhesion to the Paris City Hall Charter “Paris Clean Vehicles” since 1996, as well as with the launch of a fleet of LPG run vehicles since 1998.

With a global fleet of over 21 000 vehicles across the various sectors of activity, the Group is looking for actions with a sustainable effect upon the environment.

The taxi subsidiaries of the Groupe G7 vowed in 2007 to reach an objective of a 25% reduction in CO2 emissions over 5 years with concrete results in a number of domains:

  • Large financial support by TAXIS G7 for their affiliate drivers for the purchase of a hybrid vehicle.
  • Launch in 2008 of the MaxiCab taxi service allowing 7 adult passengers to travel in a single vehicle: a single vehicle means less pollution and more conviviality.
  • Launch in 2009 of the Greencab taxi service allowing passengers to book an environmentally friendly taxi thanks to the development of a fleet of over 400 hybrid vehicles. This is the largest ecologically friendly fleet of passenger transport vehicles in France.
  • Promotion of eco-friendly-driving by all of the taxi drivers.
  • Installation of a bio-diesel pump.
  • Acceleration of the renewal of the vehicles in the fleet.

The storage subsidiaries have also taken on ecologically responsible initiatives:

  • Encouragement of all HOMEBOX clients to receive their bills via Internet.
  • Printing of all mail and bills for HOMEBOX clients on recycled paper.
  • HOMEBOX centres are all equipped with motion detectors, in order to limit the consumption of electricity usage from lighting.
  • Sorting of all wastes and recycling of all HOMEBOX skids.
  • Progressive implementation of ISO 14001 for all MGF Logistique’s sites. Moreover, the works undertaken at the head office of the Group have already paid off by reducing electrical consumption by nearly 40% for the building: our objective is to reduce the consumption to less than 100kWH/m2 by the end of 2011.

It is both through a global environmental policy and a constant attention to our daily behaviour that we bring our contribution to sustainable development.
